Dear Foodies, despite the hustle and bustle, and chaos Lagos is known for; if you take the time out, there are so many things to be thankful for in the metropolitan city fondly called “Las Gidi”
Some of those things are street food! To a lot of people, small chops is the Holy Grail but imagine a city where you can get a Margarita to go before 1pm or Boli and fish delivered to your office to the nostril-tickling envy of your coworkers.
Lagos is as real as it gets and here are some of the brands redefining the long time business of street food in Lagos.
Agoyin Special (@Agoyinspecial)
One of the most infamous street foods in Lagos, Ewa Agoyin is a mash of beans with really tasty stew. If you lived in Lagos, you’ll know you probably had to go all the way to Ghana High to get yourself a really good plate of that amazing meal (side note, Ghana High delivers now!).
The food brand Agoyin Special is a delivery based food service that has extended the Ewa Agoyin menu to include usual suspects, agege bread, yam chips or plantain. With highly commended delivery service, they are available in Lagos and London.
Wingsville (@Wingsville)
This is probably one of the best kept food secrets in Lagos. Their Suya-spiced wings will make your entire week especially when paired with the sweet potato sides! This is literally the best work treat because you get six wings on your sixth order and of course they have Jollof rice on the side menu and they deliver on the island!
Urban Fuxion (@Urban_Fuxion)
Growing up, street food wasn’t exactly as upscale as it appears now; you had limited options of fried Puff puff or Akara or the usual yam and potatoes with really sparse sauce. Urban Fuxion offers ribs, platters AND cocktails to go! Of course they deliver and the prices are street worthy. Did we forget to mention? The food is impeccably delicious!
Just Yamz (@itsjustyamz)
Now if you’re old school with a flair for adventure, Just Yamz should be your go-to! A strict yam-inspired menu, get ready to experience yams like you’ve never before. They have a weekly menu and offer mainland delivery as well.
Hopefully, lunch gets switched up and you get to try some of these new brands. Don’t forget to take a #Foodstagram with your Partner Mobile phone for the culture.
